Issue 144

We are building features for the Women Who Code community and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating their valuable time to help us build tech a place where women can excel.

You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.

Released

This week we've been working on a ton of great features for the Women Who Code website. This includes enhancements to the new Network Profiles, greater access for Admins and Network admins, and some fixes to improve performance, accessibility, and functionality.

Fixed
Fix view error when ApplaudHers have no last name
– The new ApplaudHer display system that we have featured on Network about pages has been updated to properly display whether the a first and last, or just a first name has been provided.

Add GA Tags to Job Contact Form
This update installed the Google Analytics Debugger tool on the Job Contact Form, allowing us to better track form submit actions through the console.

Network Profile Subnav Links to ID Instead of Slug
This updates the URL's of Network navigation tab pages so that they show the Network url and not the Network ID. So for instance instead of https://www.womenwhocode.com/2/events it now displays as https://www.womenwhocode.com/sf/events.

ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound in blog#show
When you try to access a non existent or incorrect Blog url slug i.e. blog/yugiuyhg, the site now redirects you back to the blog index page.

Changed

Update Sitemap for Network Profiles
This is an update to our sitemap.xml which includes the new Network sub navigation tab pages, for easier search indexing and better SEO.

Added

Feature 2918 keyboard nav
This makes the website more accessible by allowing for users to set their browsers to tab mode, and then tab through the site, reaching all pertinent navigational links.

Allow Leaders to create/edit Announcements
This is part of our ongoing release of the new Network Profile Pages, which allows Network admins to create announcements which will be seen on their specific Network page. This does not allow announcements to be deleted, although they can be disabled, and it does not allow them to be set globally for the whole website.

Admin Customer view page – add View & Edit to posts
This allows admins to view, edit, and schedule customers job posts for them from the back end. This can be done both for manual posts to the site and those intended for the CODE Review.
