The World’s Largest Community of Diverse Women in Technology Creates Webapp to Connect Members With Professional Opportunities Tailored to Their Career Goals

ATLANTA – AUGUST 10TH, 2023 Women Who Code (WWCode), a global nonprofit dedicated to empowering diverse women in technology careers, is proud to announce the launch of a new webapp with a customized member experience portal that connects users with curated events, coding resources, content, and professional opportunities. The system uses a powerful recommendation engine to ensure that the resources delivered are always relevant.

The new Digital Member Experience features a recommendation engine that connects Women Who Code content to members based on career experience, tech stacks, areas of interest, location, and job search preferences. During onboarding, users are asked to share information about their career goals so that those connections can be made, and over time it makes smarter suggestions based on the actions of peers with similar profiles. The results are presented through a Member Dashboard for a personalized experience.

“Connecting diverse women with opportunities to learn new skills, build their personal networks, support one another, and elevate into leadership roles is core to the work that Women Who Code does every day,” said Joey Rosenberg, President of Product and Communications for Women Who Code. “Our new Digital Member Experience will allow us to multiply our impact, reducing barriers to accessing the tools that drive connections and real career success for the community.”

An updated design has been implemented in the new webapp to better reflect the Women Who Code community and to evoke the inspirational energy of participating in its program. The palette has been optimized for accessibility, and features bold colors and stylistic design elements.

The new Digital Member Experience has been in development since 2021 and is Women Who Code’s biggest technical build yet. It was designed by speaking with members, analyzing user engagement data, conducting surveys, and identifying the top benefits that members say help them most in navigating their careers and rising in tech.
