Managing Director at Accenture Labs in Silicon Valley is Newest Board Member

SAN FRANCISCO, March 8, 2016Women Who Code (WWCode), a 501c3 that works to inspire women to achieve success in technology careers, is proud to announce that Mary Hamilton has joined its Board of Directors. Hamilton is a managing director at the Accenture Labs in Silicon Valley. Joining the Women Who Code Board of Directors, Hamilton will contribute to helping expand and promote the organization’s mission in helping increase the number of women in technology careers.

Within Accenture Labs, Hamilton leads the global Digital Experiences research and development agenda focused on applying emerging digital technologies to address key business challenges of Accenture’s clients. Her multidisciplinary team develops differentiated technology concepts and solutions that create new opportunities for both clients and Accenture to grow their capabilities in new areas such as Digital Customer, Digital Workforce, and Digital Operations. These capabilities are based on new advances in experience-driven technologies including virtual, immersive, and augmented reality, wearables, 3D printing, connected car, customer analytics and lifestyle services, social media and collaboration, gamification, augmented workforce and crowdsourcing.

In joining the Board of Directors, Hamilton has become a public representative of Women Who Code, and will act as an advocate for its mission of supporting women in technology around the world. To this end she has pledged her assistance in the promotion and execution of events, programs, and fundraising initiatives. She will also be able to propose initiatives and work with a talented team of industry professionals to direct the course that WWCode takes as it works towards its goals.

Hamilton spoke about the importance of Women Who Code saying, “I believe that the work being done by this organization is critical to the future of the technology industry. Women need to be empowered and given the support that they need to thrive in a field that offers so much opportunity. I’m joining the Women Who Code Board of Directors so that I can make a difference.”
