Women Who Code started as a community group in 2011 when a handful of technologists decided they wanted to change the industry experience for women engineers. Since then, it has become a global non-profit organization and the world’s largest and most active community dedicated to inspiring women to excel in technology careers. One city at a time, Women Who Code spread around the world, reaching more than 20 countries.
Each city has its own unique culture and has seen local leaders rise to be both leaders of our movement and leaders of the industry, paving the way for the new face of tech:
Women Who Code Kyiv was launched in December 2016 and officially started in January 2017 with its first event. Since then, we grew from only a few members to a significant and thriving community whose name is well-known in the tech industry of Kyiv. As of March 2020, we've organized more than 60 technical and career-oriented events. Our main activities involve seeking out new speakers among women and then promoting them, helping fellow women find jobs and attend conferences, and since recently - coordinating a mentorship program for rising women engineers.
We are also very proud to witness our members become committed and effective leaders and visionaries in their respective industry areas.
