Issue 147

We are building features for the Women Who Code community and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating their valuable time to help us build tech a place where women can excel.

You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.

Released

This week we got a lot of great features updated and added to the site. This includes a new way for members to update their own passwords, as well as welcoming a new member to the Core Team. We also implemented some new error messages and a fix to give the site admins more flexibility.

Fixed

Fix link in "no network" message

When you go to /networks on the site, and search for a Network that does not exist, you see the following message: "Thanks for checking in! We're not currently active in this city. Don't worry, you can still become a member or apply to launch Women Who Code in your city." Along with links to become a member or apply to launch a Network.

RuntimeError in admin/coupons#create

This is an update for admins that create job board coupons on the back end. When the same coupon is created twice, or a coupons expiration is set to the past, an error is shown.

Able to Destroy Blog Posts in Blog Posts – Profiles table with Profiles

This enables admin users to delete blog posts from the back end.

Added

Rake task to update Location/Address data

This task checks all jobs on the job board that 1. Have a location, 2. Are remote, 3. Have no location information, or 4. have two locations. It ensures that all of the locations are accurate and up to date and are matched to longitudes and latudes.

Add Change Password Link to Profiles

This adds a button to member profiles on the site, so that users can change and update their own passwords via email verification.

Add Rachael to About Page & README

Women Who Code's new Senior Software Engineer and Core Team members Rachael Wright was added to the About page.

Applauds!
