Issue 133
We are building features for the Women Who Code community and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating their valuable time to help us build tech a place where women can excel.
You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.
Released
We've been hard at work at some exciting new updates and fixes during this week's sprint. This includes a new WWCode Careers Page, infinite event scroll on event pages, updated favicons, and the resolution of a Filestack conflict and a 404 error on job perks.
Add General FAQ Link to Get Involved Emails
– When a user fills out the Get Involved form, they now receive an email that has a clickable link at the bottom that says "Get More Info"
Add Careers Page to Footer
– WWCode HQ is expanding! And right now we have several roles to fill. So in order to highlight these positions we now have a link to a careers page in the footer of the site.
Events Scroll
The events page, both the general worldwide events page and those on Network pages, can potentially show a lot of events. We don't want this to cause performance problems, so infinite scroll is being added to these pages so that members can see everything but in a paginated way.
Adding New Favicons
– We are moving towards following best practices for our global favicons, including appropriately sized icons for Apple or Microsoft devices.
Resolved 404 Error on Perks
– When changing a Job Post perk from a manual perk to a CODE Review perk, the change was saving, but the user was getting a 404 error. This was because it was trying to redirect the user to the Manual posts show page, despite that page having already moved to the CODE Review posts page.
Change Event to NetworkEvent to Resolve Conflict with Filestack
– We changed the name of Event React component to NetworkEvent to fix a conflict with Filestack uploads.
Hotfix: Staging to Master
– We did an unscheduled deploy this week to push some pressing changes to issues that needed to be resolved in a more timely manner.
