Alpha User Organizations Offering Tech Career Opportunities include Digg, Compose, Radio Public, The Flex Company, Bluetooth Sig, Rested, and Caso

San Francisco, CA – July 12, 2016 — Women Who Code (WWCode), a global 501c3 that supports career aged women working in technology, announces the beta launch of their job board feature. Available via the WWCode website, this new application is designed to connect talented engineers with employment opportunities at some of the top firms in the tech industry, while also revolutionizing the job search experience with an interface that is more conducive to the way that engineers, and especially women in the field assess career opportunities.

The employer face of the job board, which launched in late June, invited a select cadre of companies to signup and post career opportunities. This list of Alpha user organizations includes Digg, Compose, Radio Public, The Flex Company, Bluetooth Sig, Rested, and Caso. With the official release of the application, members of the Women Who Code community can now browse the listings and apply to the positions that are relevant to them.

The Women Who Code job board is designed to be intuitive to the way that engineers evaluate employment options. It takes a minimalist approach, with job descriptions limited to 141 characters. The interface encourages employers to list and offer benefits, which are often particularly important to women in the field. It also allows potential employees to contact companies directly, making it easier for people who are only casually assessing their options to indicate their interest in a position.

Women Who Code’s Chief Maker, Zassmin Montes de Oca said, “We wanted to create an experience that is catered to the way that our members actually look for jobs, while also eliminating some of the issues that traditionally cause women to avoid applying for a position, even when they are qualified. Women are more likely than men to pass on an opportunity if they don’t meet every listed requirement, so we limited space that employers have to post those, and instead focused on the key points that are most important to our members.”

The Women Who Code Job Page gives employers the option to post their position to the job board, as well as in the weekly CODE Review Newsletter. The latter is an option that has been successfully employed by a number of prestigious tech organizations including Nike, Capital One, Reddit, Zalando, and Automattic.

Women Who Code CEO Alaina Percival spoke about the job board launch saying, “We built this feature because there was a need for it. Companies approach us all the time looking for ways to connect with our software engineers. Now we are providing them with a solution that will allow them reach out to our global community of over 50,000 technical women, while also helping them to better communicate with the people they are trying to hire.”
