Volunteer Recognition Day: A Letter to WWCode Leaders
Written by Sapphire Duffy
Happy Volunteer Recognition Day!
Our Volunteers are the heart of Women Who Code, and our organization wouldn’t be where it is today without your contributions. You inspire diverse technologists in your local Network and Tracks all around the world. Your willingness to give your time and service is greatly appreciated, we value every minute you serve. Your support of Women Who Code allows us to continue to fulfill our mission and serve 343,000 people in our community each year.
Women Who Code has accomplished incredible things because of you:
-
You have helped us grow to 343,000 members in 11 years, gaining members in 147 countries and helping us grow Networks in over 70+ cities, as well as increasing the membership in our 6 Technical Tracks and Career Navigation Track.
-
When our members attend your events, they grow their technical and professional skillsets in a supportive environment and in their native language. They develop their careers, gain job promotions, and salary bumps thanks to the content you deliver. You are inspirational role models to them.
-
Over 17k hours of on-demand content is accessible on the WWCode YouTube channel thanks to the event recordings you make available to our members allowing them to learn at their own pace.
-
You help grow our volunteer base by mentoring and empowering members to become volunteers in your community.
-
You spread the word about important WWCode DEI campaigns, programs and initiatives to help us advocate for a more equitable and inclusive technology industry.
-
You help foster Partnership opportunities for WWCode, bringing in critical financial support that ensures we can fulfill our mission.
-
You shaped our resources, including championing technology tracks, which led us to launching the WWCode Technical Tracks and Fellowship program in 2019.
You truly represent our values at Women Who Code, and help move our mission forward. We look forward to working with YOU every day.
