Strong self-belief and constantly challenging oneself are the keys to succeed in life
– Gunjan Malik

A postgraduate in Computer Science from Bansthali Vidhyapith, Gunjan Malik shines bright as the recipient of the prestigious CEO Award for her contribution to Altran’s success. Working as AVP Engineering at Altran, she strongly believes that women have the unique ability to manage multiple aspects of life very well. She is proud of her daughter being a very independent and responsible person.

On being asked about the highlights of her professional journey,  she shared, “I worked for companies like Newgen  Software,  Xerox and  Ascom.  I joined Hughes Software Systems and the journey continued through Flextronics, Aricent and now Altran as a result of various acquisitions.  In my career, I got an opportunity to work on a  few niche technologies of that time such as image processing,   3G   and witnessed the transitional era of the telecom industry with the emergence of mobility, cloud, multi-cloud and AI. I worked with many brilliant minds and leaders in pre-sales and executed some of the largest deals for the organization. The opportunity to collaborate with various teams and customers across the globe increased my awareness of cultural diversity.

On being asked about the challenges she faced in her career, she said, “I have seen all sorts of transitions and transformations, both in terms of technology and organization. I always considered every challenge as an opportunity to learn and evolve into a better self. I believe that change is the way of life–accept the change, try out something new, or do existing tasks differently.”

“I have worked with many different personalities as my supervisors or subordinates and understand that everyone has a different way of working. Some are easier to manage than others. Once we understand that they need space to operate, and guidance when needed, it becomes a part of everyday life. All you need to do is just be there to support, solve and resolve when needed.”

She also advised, “There will be times in your life when you may have to reprioritize. Take it in your stride, do not stress yourself out, do not hesitate to take advice. Work on yourself to become stronger mentally. Be confident. Your Confidence and will-power will win half of your battles and to win the rest all you need to do is perform.”
