Software Engineer Sowjanya Mudunuri Employs Problem Solving Prowess a Top Tech Company
Sowjanya (Sowju) Mudunuri has a keen mind for math and problem solving, which she utilizes daily in her position as a full-stack software engineer. There she makes key contributions to the organization, developing API’s and new product features, while also working to improve performance through Caching, Eager Loading, and carefully designed SQL Queries. In her latest endeavor she fully architected, coded, and built the checkout-flow for a major e-commerce company as a single page application.
Sowju spent the first two years of her career as a hardware engineer for Intel, but quickly realized that her greatest joy came from writing code. Her employment transition was difficult, but her aptitude for math, physics, and logic problems made her a natural when it came to software development. She also found strength at Women Who Code events, where she found a community who offered positive reinforcement as she embarked upon a new career journey.”
Today Sowju has a successful career as a full-stack engineer at a top tech company, enjoys giving back to the community. She regularly attends and contributes to WWCode events – managing the Ruby study groups for WWCode SF. This leadership opportunity has helped her overcome her fear of public speaking and in addition, she has mentored two other women who have now transitioned into full time software engineers.
